Motorcycle Safety Training

Online Learning Enterprises to launch a Motorcycle Safety online training Course!

Motorcycle training onlineWorking in conjunction with the Canada Safety Council, Online Learning Enterprises is in the final editing stage of a new comprehensive course aimed at reducing motorcycle accidents. Their classroom based Motorcycle Training Program has been in operation since 1974. Offered through a national network of provincial and local organizations, it is the only program recognized by the entire motorcycle industry, federal and provincial governments, insurers and private organizations alike across Canada. See www.canadasafetycouncil.org. This new course leverages their experience to make their well-proven approach available to a wider online audience.

Motorcycle Safety Online - what you should know before you ride - was introduced at the North American International Motorcycle Super Show held in Toronto on January 2012 – one of North America’s largest motorcycle shows.

The course provides an introduction to motorcycles, how to choose riding gear, motorcycle controls and how they work, situational riding skills, safe riding techniques, lane positioning, how to make you more conspicuous to others, how to ride with other bikers in a convoy, how to anticipate potential hazards and riding with a passenger.

This course should appeal to experienced riders as a refresher – everyone will increase their riding safety by taking this course. But if you are a new rider you should take this online program BEFORE you ride, or even buy your bike. It provides valuable insight – and can save you money – by helping to select the right gear the first time and ensure that you buy the size and style of motorcycle that best suits your needs.

The program uses custom videos, shot by professional cinematographers in real on-road situations using a variety of high-end motorcycles including:

  • Triumph Bonneville T100
  • Triumph Street Triple
  • Ducati Monster 696
  • Ducati 848
  • Harley Davidson CVO™ STREET GLIDE
  • Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom
  • BMW R1200RT

Custom graphics and animations are used to illustrate key points and frequent opportunities are there to check understanding. The program uses first-rate, best in class, multi-media sessions, and is created with custom graphics and real world videos designed to encourage interaction and increase knowledge retention. A useful summary of the licensing requirements for every province and territory in Canada is provided.

The goal is to keep you and your riding companions safe.
